Credit Blende Training is proud to announce that John Marais has joined the company to head up the Training Division in the Western Cape Region.

John Marais is a multi skilled individual who has been involved in various different Industries and has thus gained vast experience, in which he has achieved great success. John has been involved in the Credit Industry for approximately 27 years. John was a Credit Manager for a few prominent companies, including Panasonic Consumer Division plus being the National Credit Manager within Bromor Foods and Trentyre.

John was recognized as one of the leading Credit Managers, this has been proved by John being the proud recipient of the Regional Award for Credit Executive of the Year in 2001.
John was elected onto the Board of Directors for the Institute of Credit Management from 2003 and is currently still serving on the Board of Directors and is the editor of the Institute of Credit Management’s magazine the Voice of Credit (VOC).
John was elected as Chairman of the Western Cape Region for the Institute of Credit management from 2000 to 2002.
John was the Chairman of the Tyre Information Sharing Group from 1999 to 2001
John was recognized as a Top Achiever at Panasonic Consumer Division and won the Manager of the Year award in 1994.
In 1993 John was awarded ‘Top Student’ for Credit Management Part 3

John has been facilitating Credit Management Courses for the past 12 years with training institutions such as the Cape Peninsula University and Damelin.

Education:

John started a BCompt degree in 1984 and after completing 50%; John changed direction and focused on Accounts Receivable/Debtors which is arguably a company’s most important Current Asset.
John has successfully completed Credit Management Part 1 (Distinction); Credit Management Part 2 (Distinction) and Credit Management Part 3.
John has successfully completed a Business Management Diploma with the following subjects:

• Financial Accounting (Distinction)
• Management Accounting & Finance (Distinction)
• Marketing
• Human Resource Management
• Executive Development
• Business Policy

John has attended numerous Interpersonal Management and Motivational Seminars over the years.

John's vast experience and intricate knowledge and his “passion” for Credit make him a valuable addition to Credit Blende Training.
